I must admit that over the past two years, I've experienced lapses in my self-care and self-reiki practices. Life has a way of diverting our attention—whether through caring for ill family members, relocating, or dealing with work commitments. These interruptions are simply part of life.
Now that I’ve settled in Florida, I’ve embarked on a renewed regimen of self-care and self-reiki. Though I previously believed my practices were robust, I realized that it’s crucial to rejuvenate my approach by returning to the foundational techniques I employed during my initial eight years of reiki training and teaching. To my surprise, some of the shortcuts that once yielded effective results, such as when I was doing up to 980 sessions as year, no longer seem to be as effective.
The world is evolving, and over the past year, I’ve been discussing with my clients and friends the need to enhance and reassess their grounding techniques. The resurgence of magic has brought greater illumination, and as we know, light cannot exist without darkness. This is not meant to instill fear, but to acknowledge a reality.
My time in Florida has been devoted to my roles as a Spiritual/Life coach and psychic medium. I hadn’t realized that my self-work with reiki also needed enhancement. I had assumed everything was progressing smoothly, given the lack of complaints, but recently, I’ve noticed shifts in my energy.
An interesting encounter occurred recently while I was down in Ft. Myers—in Florida I am ironically surrounded by beautiful vacation spots. While conversing with a nurse in a bar, I quickly read her energy, after she asked me to which left her astonished. She shared my website with her husband, and he remarked that I resembled someone I hadn’t heard the name of in years. This was a reminder of the early days of my practice when I was just starting out.
Today, after several days of dedicating at least an hour to self-reiki, I experienced a surprising event: while in a deep trance, my hands were flung a foot away from their position on my body. This left me baffled, but it seems to indicate a release of a blockage I wasn’t previously aware of. It has opened me up to sensing resonance in other chakras.
It’s clear that continuing my practice is essential for my healing and growth. One thing I want to leave you with is a sentiment I’ve shared for years: “The terminology may change, but the modality stays the same.” If you hear people claiming that one method is stronger or better than another, remember that it’s ultimately about your self-practice. The more you invest in it, the more you will learn and grow in your skills.
